ANNA – The Association of National Numbering Agencies
ANNA carries out its work on implementing and maintaining international standards in accordance with the rules and conditions stipulated by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Where a country does not have its own National Numbering Agency (NNA), ISIN numbers for securities in that country can be allocated by a Substitute Numbering Agency (SNA).
The most important ISO standards for which ANNA is responsible are ISO 6166 – ISIN (International Securities Identifications Number) and ISO 10962 – Classification of financial instruments (CFI).
ANNA provides the ISIN and CFI standards to the securities markets through the ANNA Service Bureau (ASB). ANNA has 122 member countries, including Norway. Euronext Securities Oslo is the NNA for Norway, and is responsible for allocating ISIN numbers and CFI codes for all Norwegian financial instruments. Euronext Securities Oslo submits daily updates on Norwegian ISINs to an international server.
