Renewal of IT and systems will be an important part of VPS road map going forward

In the months following the cancellation of the agreement with Percival regarding the delivery of a new core system, we have given full attention to the other IT and system renewals that we will continue to develop, and in some cases may also be accelerated.

John-Arne-Haugerud nyhetsbrevet

We have involved our clients in the process, both through our Market Advisory Board and through Reference Groups. We wanted to do this in order to ensure that we are on the right track. In the article about VPS 2.0 in this newsletter, you can read more about the VPS road map.

A large part of the renewal programme is devoted to the new EU regulation, CSDR. The regulation, which will apply to all CSDs in the EU/EEA, forces us to implement major changes to our services and operations. In this newsletter, we are introducing you to our Legal and Compliance section. There, you can find out about the work they do in connection with, for instance, the application for a new business license. In addition to the new license, the CSDR requires us to increase the number of settlement cycles per day.

I am very engaged in our clients’ perception of getting that extra value in their everyday work by being associated with VPS. We are constantly working to improve the client experience, and I strongly believe that all the employees of VPS perform at best efforts to deliver on clients’ expectations – every day. But, in order to provide the best service for our clients, it is important to get feedback. I therefore encourage all clients to participate in the client survey that we are going to send out later this autumn.

The forthcoming months are going to be busy, with a lot of travelling. We start by being present at “de store Aksjekveldene”, the major annual events for private investors, which we are arranging together with AksjeNorge. VPS will also this year organise regional client meetings in Bergen, Trondheim and Oslo for our customers. We have seen that there is a need for regional meetings. Therefore, this year we have decided to arrange a regional meeting in Stavanger as well. SIBOS 2016 takes place in Geneva. We are going to be there on 26 – 29 September in order to be able to meet the rest of the industry. And finally I would encourage you to attend the Post Trade Norway seminar on 13 October, where VPS is one of the lead sponsors.

I hope we will get the opportunity to meet many of you at one of this autumn’s events.

Sincerely yours,
