VPS’ private cloud is in the basement

We at VPS have established our own "cloud" on our own machines in our own Data center so that no data leaves VPS. This enables VPS to scale new services during busy periods and it also ensures stability and uptime, as well as making the development of new services efficient.

In recent years, we have made significant modernisations internally in our operations environment and on our application architecture. The trend is to move more and more into the cloud, but VPS is subject to legislation which does not permit us to run our systems in a cloud service operated by other vendors. We have therefore established our own private cloud where we are able to run our recently developed applications and all new initiatives. We are also working to transfer parts of the older applications to our private cloud.

The basic technology is the same as deployed by Google and Microsoft Azure. We have chosen RedHat as vendor, and we are now operating with OpenShift 3.7.
